ADRI MURGUIA
DOCUMENTARY EXEC & FILMMAKER
Born in Lima, Peru and growing up across three continents, Adri Murguia is an experienced development executive with a background in documentary filmmaking. She has demonstrated success in creating and developing original documentary and unscripted content for digital, OTT platforms and TV.
Skilled in visual storytelling with strong aesthetic sensibilities, her films have been exhibited around the world, including at CPH:DOX (Copenhagen), Newfest: The New York LGBTQ+ Film Festival (NYC), Seattle Transmedia & Independent Film Festival (WA), Fringe! Film Festival (London), Somerset House (London), and Ars Film Festival (Austria).
Murguia is a strong video production professional with a Bachelor's Degree focused in Media Studies, Semiotics, and Film Production from New York University, between The Tisch School of the Arts and Steinhardt. Her work has been recognized by GLAAD and Stonewall, and she currently holds VICE’s most-watched video of all time, with over 70 million views on YouTube.
The first season of Slutever on Viceland, an award-winning channel, which Murguia co-created, executive produced, and directed, debuted in 2018 and gained notices from The New York Times, The New Yorker, Vogue magazine, Paper magazine, the Guardian and The New York Post. The second season premiered in February 2019.
Since VICE, she has worked as a development executive focusing on documentary programming at Quibi and The Walt Disney Company.
Murguia speaks 4 languages fluently, has lived in 8 countries, and has shot in 5 continents.
She currently works and lives in Los Angeles.
